Welcome to Enko Education

African International Schools

A launchpad to the world’s best universities

Enko Education is a fast-growing network of African international schools, increasing access to the world’s best universities for learners across Africa.
We offer an inclusive education, of outstanding quality, so that learners can access the world’s best universities and successful careers.

Our Three Pillars

Enko Education stands on three powerful pillars that shape our students into future leaders:

African Roots

At Enko Education, we strive to nurture our learners, encouraging them to embrace and appreciate their African roots while fostering a strong sense of identity. We empower our students to seize the boundless opportunities available on the continent, while also equipping them to become the continent’s representatives and promoters globally. By instilling a sense of pride in their culture, we aim for our students to make a positive difference in Africa and beyond.

  1. Our People

    1. We recruit local teachers and continuously invest in their professional development.
    2. Our schools are part of a panAfrican group: 92% of our employees are African, our shareholding is mostly African.
  2. Our Curricula

    1. Our curricula are anchored in the African context. The flexibility of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme for example allows for our schools to provide courses based on the local context (history, geography, literature …).
    2. We are the biggest network of IB (International Baccalaureate) schools in Africa.
    3. We proudly celebrate our African roots: we celebrate Africa Day, Black History Month, Mother Tongue Day.
    4. We expose our students to African Success Stories through various events and in the classes. Eg: Once every 3 months, our Founders invite a prestigious guest to address our students, employees and partners. The Founders’ Speaker Series gives our students inspiration and motivation through aspirational African personalities.
    5. Our students get to enjoy the benefits of being part of a network of schools: we organize events and interaction across our schools such as summer school trips. For example, in 2023 students from various Enko education schools had the opportunity to travel to Rwanda.
Global Wings

Enko Education schools support learners to develop their global wings, to empower them to blossom on a global playfield, recognising its richness and diversity, and being able to seize its opportunities.  Our primary and secondary schools offer esteemed programmes  serving as a launchpad to the world’s most prestigious higher education institutions and enabling our students to embark on a journey towards academic excellence and success on a global scale.

  1. The IB curriculum is known to have the highest admission rates to the best universities and is be recognized by more than 2,000 universities worldwide.
  2. The IB curriculum allows learners to be able to engage with people in an increasingly globalized, rapidly changing world.
  3. Cambridge international examination (CIE) programmes are recognised as excellent preparation for higher education and working life. More than 10,000 establishments in 160 countries are part of the Cambridge community.
  4. Our students academic performances are assessed according to the same standards  as students attending IB and CIE programmes worldwide.
  5. There are over 5,000 IB World Schools and more than 10,000 Cambridge schools worldwide.
  6. Understanding the diverse educational landscapes across Africa, our network extends its offerings to encompass high-quality national programs. Certain schools within the Enko Education family provide national curricula such as the CAPS curriculum in South Africa.
  7. Our students get to enjoy events and interaction internationally. International School trips are organized to locations outside of Africa (eg:Dubai).
  8. All non anglophone students are bilingual by the end of high school and able to study in a foreign country.
Future-Orientated

Our schools prepare our learners to deal effectively with the unpredictable future, by helping them to learn how to learn, to develop 21st-century skills to anticipate their university admission and future career.

  1. Our unique three-year university guidance programme supports students in securing admissions and funding in the university of their choice (See page on University Admissions Guidance programme).
  2. Our students are supported to develop 21st century skills such as Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Collaboration skills and Communication skills.
  3. We expose students to Career talks and success stories for students to learn about future jobs and career paths
  4. We strive to offer purposeful technology-enabled instruction to support academic excellence.
  5. Students are given access to ICT rooms and science laboratories to support their learning.
  6. IB graduates are known to be better prepared to succeed in higher education

Those three pillars are supported by an underlying one: Co-construction with parents & learners. We are creating a new model of African International Schools and we want to build it hand in hand with them.
