\n\t\tThe Upper Primary stage is a three-year program for Grades Five, Six, and Seven, culminating in an examination at the end of Grade Seven. Learners are prepared for the primary school leaving examination and attain a level Grade Seven certificate, a key requirement for progression to Grade Eight, equivalent to Level 1 certification of the Zambia qualification framework.\n

From Grade Five onwards, students are subject to School-Based Assessments (SBA), a model of continuous assessment whose achievement scores add to the final Grade Seven Examination.
