African Roots

At Enko Education, we strive to nurture our learners, encouraging them to embrace and appreciate their African roots while fostering a strong sense of identity. We empower our students to seize the boundless opportunities available on the continent, while also equipping them to become the continent’s representatives and promoters globally. By instilling a sense of pride in their culture, we aim for our students to make a positive difference in Africa and beyond.

  1. Our People

    1. We recruit local teachers and continuously invest in their professional development.
    2. Our schools are part of a panAfrican group: 92% of our employees are African, our shareholding is mostly African.
  2. Our Curricula

    1. Our curricula are anchored in the African context. The flexibility of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme for example allows for our schools to provide courses based on the local context (history, geography, literature …).
    2. We are the biggest network of IB (International Baccalaureate) schools in Africa.
    3. We proudly celebrate our African roots: we celebrate Africa Day, Black History Month, Mother Tongue Day.
    4. We expose our students to African Success Stories through various events and in the classes. Eg: Once every 3 months, our Founders invite a prestigious guest to address our students, employees and partners. The Founders’ Speaker Series gives our students inspiration and motivation through aspirational African personalities.
    5. Our students get to enjoy the benefits of being part of a network of schools: we organize events and interaction across our schools such as summer school trips. For example, in 2023 students from various Enko education schools had the opportunity to travel to Rwanda.
