Letter to Enko Education parents with children in DP2

 In #COVID-19, IB

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The International Baccalaureate announced today that:

  • the May 2020 examinations, as scheduled between 30 April and 22 May for the Diploma Programme [..] will no longer be held
  • […] students will be awarded a Diploma or a Course Certificate which reflects their standard of work. This is based on student’s coursework and the established assessment expertise, rigor, and quality control already built into the programmes.
  • Full details on how this will work will be communicated by the IB by 27 March 2020

This is an important announcement – reflective of the current situation. What does this mean?

  • Internal assessments become even more essential than before, and students will have to double their efforts for those. The IB will focus on the internal assessment to award Diplomas and Courses, and so will the universities to either admit students or confirm conditional offers
  • Our students still need to follow the programme in order to be at the level expected by the IB, and ready for university
  • We will continue implementing distance learning as long as schools are closed, and we expect all students to follow the distance courses thoroughly and hand over all the homework required by the teachers.

We are extremely proud of the action plans implemented by all our schools to provide continuity in your children’s education. Our teachers and counsellors will provide all the support needed for your children to successfully go to university, and we want to remind everyone, parents, learners and teachers, of the importance of respecting the measures taken to continue learning and teaching

We will make sure to keep our parents and learners informed as soon as further official communication is made by the IB.

Please support us by ensuring that your children’s serious engagement in following the online courses continues.
