ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Pestalozzi Education Centre

Welcome Message From Head of School

Welcome to Pestalozzi Education Centre, an IB World school located in Ibex Hill, Lusaka. We are a non-profit school owned by Pestalozzi International and a proud member of the Enko Education Network of Schools. Pestalozzi International is dedicated to transforming the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in Africa and Asia, paving the way for social mobility and economic growth.  We provide a unique and practical approach to learning that emphasises our philosophy of the holistic development of each learner’s ‘Head,’ ‘Heart,’ and ‘Hands.’ This approach cultivates critical and creative thinking and practical skills, resulting in compassionate, active learners and change-makers.

Pestalozzi Education Centre welcomes learners from crèche to year 12, offering both national and international curricula. We provide the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) curriculum from grades 1 to 12 and Cambridge programmes from primary to International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) level. We also offer the globally recognised International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), and the Cambridge A-levels, 2-year programmes of advanced study that offer preparation for future success in University, course credits and scholarships.

We provide a conducive, warm environment that complements our comprehensive academic curricula and extracurricular programme. Students benefit from inquiry-based learning, a rich drama and art programme, and exciting experiential excursions. Our sports facilities, computer labs, science labs, work labs and library ensure that students are provided with opportunities to explore. They participate in various sports activities such as basketball, track events, soccer, volleyball and have won local and national awards. As an IB World School, Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) Camp provides students with opportunities for service learning and citizenship. During this weeklong school-wide CAS camp, the students become agents of change and advocates of the Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on a specific theme. In 2023, the students erected a Bull made of recycled materials at the Chongwe Municipal Council, while in 2024, the school installed a borehole and hand pump for a rural community in Kabwe that did not have access to clean water.

Our success is measured by the achievements of our students, who have attended international summer programmes and are attending prestigious universities on very generous scholarships, including Northwestern University, University of Calgary, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, University of Pretoria, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Wuhan University, University of Zambia, and the Copperbelt University, amongst others. Our graduates join a growing international network of high achievers, changemakers and considerate global citizens.

Choosing the right school for your child can be a daunting task, however, our Programme Coordinators and Admission Staff are prepared to support you in choosing the best pathway for your child/ren. Please email us at [email protected]
