Our approach

Our vision

At Enko Education, our mission is to unlock access to the world’s best universities. We’re driving a virtuous cycle: welcoming more students boosts university admissions, elevates Enko’s reputation, and attracts more schools and parental trust. This allows us to invest in top-tier African International Schools, leading to even better admission results. Since day one, Enko Education has aimed to make a continent-wide impact, not by building a single perfect school, but by establishing schools where they’re needed most.

We started with 144 students in 2014 and have grown to 6,850 in 2024. Join us in this mission, and together, let’s transform education for 20,000 students by 2029!

Our model

At Enko Education, all our schools embody our three pillars: African roots, global wings and future-oriented. Through those pillars and our commitment to co-construction with our community, we aspire for our schools to become African International Schools of choice.

  • Our Heads of School drive this transformation within a framework developed by Enko Education to be relevant for schools across the continent.
  • Schools have access to ten innovative products developed by our central team to support their academic excellence and operational efficiency.

This comprehensive model ensures that each school benefits from support and best practices in education, operational efficiency, and strategic growth, ultimately realising our mission to increase access to the world’s best universities for African students.

Cours Lumière, a primary and secondary school renowned in Togo since 2002, has partnered with Enko Education for its future development. Recognised for its quality French curriculum accredited by AEFE, Cours Lumière perfectly embodies Enko's pillars - African roots, global wings, and future-oriented vision. Founded by Aimée and Marc Mino-Matot, Cours Lumière emphasises cultural dialogue and lifelong learning, catering to 19 students in 2002 and now offering a comprehensive curriculum to 968 students, including post-baccalaureate programs.

Aimée and Marc Mino-Matot, founders and leaders of Cours Lumière:

"Joining this group is an essential step for the future of Cours Lumière. For two years we have been looking for an international partner who shares our values and orientations and who is a recognised education professional. We have found this partner in Enko Education."

Enko Education will leverage the quality of the link established with the school community, existing programs, and robust university partnerships in the French-speaking world to advance the founders' mission and further develop the school. Future initiatives include enhancing bilingualism across the school curriculum, expanding university admission options through collaborations with English-speaking universities, and sharing expertise in securing university scholarships for students.

École Bilingue Avenir (EBA) is a primary and secondary school offering the French curriculum in a bilingual French/English approach to 177 students. EBA has joined the Enko Education community in May 2024. As our network of African international schools continues to expand, we actively seek schools that align with our pillars - African roots, global wings, future-oriented - and EBA was a perfect fit!

Founded in 2018, EBA is deeply committed to providing a child-centred vision of education, fostering academic excellence and nurturing a spirit of innovation and open-mindedness among its students. Its programme is 100% bilingual and draws on elements of the French, Cambridge and Montessori curriculum. It offers all nursery and primary classes, as well as three Middle School classes (Grade 6 to Grade 8).

Laetitia Bernard, co-founder and director of EBA:

"We are delighted to have found someone who will keep the EBA spirit alive. Enko Education shares our child-centred vision of education. We firmly believe that this transition will enable our students to continue to flourish and succeed in an environment that encourages innovation, creativity, and open-mindedness."

This addition presents an exciting chance to enrich educational prospects for students both within Senegal and beyond. As EBA prepares to open a new grade in September, we eagerly anticipate embarking on this journey of growth together. Welcome to the Enko Education community, EBA!

Renowned in the Malian educational landscape, Kalanso 2 and Kodonso are primary and secondary schools that respectively welcomed 407 students in primary and 561 students in secondary in 2023. Known as the best national-curriculum schools in Bamako, they both joined Enko Education in December 2022. The two institutions were founded respectively in 1994 and 1998 by Mrs Nadine Quervel Sanoh and Mr Dianka Sanoh and have forged their reputation thanks to the excellence of their results in the national examinations.

After more than twenty-five years at the head of these two schools, the founders have meticulously chosen Enko Education to ensure the development of the institutions while remaining true to the values of excellence and discipline for which they are renowned.

Mr. Sanoh:

“We were immediately seduced by Enko Education’s approach and its school model based on three pillars: African Roots, Global Wings, Future Oriented. Our two schools fit perfectly into this vision. Enko Education has found the right balance between maintaining the DNA of our schools, which have made them successful, and modernising them to prepare for the future.”

Mrs and Mr Sanoh had full confidence in the Enko Education Group, which shares the same philosophy that has guided them to this point. With its experience in the management of schools in Mali and in Sub-Saharan Africa as well as its pedagogical approach, Enko Education was the ideal choice to continue the educational mission of Kalanso 2 & Kodonso.

Mossadeck Bally, CEO of the Azalaï Hotels Group, President of the Conseil National du Patronat du Mali (CNPM) and partner of Enko Education in Mali, praised the work of the founders: “Mr. and Mrs. Sanoh have done an exceptional job in raising these two schools as models of excellence in Mali. There is a very high demand for quality education in Mali. With its experience on the continent, Enko Education brings an additional comfort of quality and innovation that will greatly benefit Mali’s youth.”

This acquisition marked another step in the development of Enko Education. “Many school owners are looking to hand over the reins, to spend more time with their families while securing the future of their school. Enko Education can now welcome schools that share our values and wish to offer quality education”, explains Eric Pignot, CEO and founder of the group.

Co-founded in 1996 by Danielle Louise and Dr Ian Hill, former deputy CEO of the International Baccalaureate Organisation, Waca was the first school to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Senegal. Widely recognised in Dakar as being an excellent international school, the secondary school had 235 students when it joined Enko Education in 2018.

Danielle Louise Hill, co-founder of WACA:

“We have reached a stage where we believe it is important that WACA takes a new step towards growth. We have devoted a great deal of energy and passion to bringing the school to where it is today. We must now prepare for the future, and make sure that the next twenty years are as good as, if not better than, the last twenty.”

Dr Ian Hill, co-founder of WACA:

“We decided to transfer the school to Enko Education as it is a solid, well-established organisation that places quality at the heart of its education system. Like WACA, Enko schools offer International Baccalaureate programmes, emphasising bilingualism and developing international awareness among their students at the same time as keeping them in touch with their African roots. We have followed the development of the group very closely since its creation; its results have been spectacular”.

In 2024, the school, now named Enko WACA, has 387 students and great plans for the future!
