African International School Enko La Gaieté Campus in Yaoundé becomes the first Cambridge-accredited primary school in Yaoundé

Yaoundé, 19th January 2021 – Enko La Gaieté Campus is pleased to announce the achievement of Cambridge Assessment International Education accreditation for its primary school in Yaoundé.

“Enko La Gaieté Campus thus becomes the one and only primary school in the city of Yaoundé to offer an accredited Cambridge Primary education”, shared Mr. Bamidele Akinbo, Founding Head of Enko La Gaieté Campus. “We are extremely proud of the work accomplished to get this accreditation, one year only after opening our primary school.“

Enko La Gaieté Campus was already accredited by Cambridge to offer the Cambridge Lower Secondary leading to the IGCSE. It also celebrated, in 2020, the 5th year anniversary of its authorization by the International Baccalaureate (IB) to offer the IBDP (IB Diploma Programme), one of the most sought-after diplomas by universities. Since its opening in September 2014 as the first international school of the Enko Education network, Enko La Gaieté Campus has indeed sent students from Cameroon to the world’s best universities, such as Yale College in the US, Sciences Po in France, or the University of Toronto in Canada. 

“In September 2020, the school opened a Primary school in Yaoundé to offer a K-12 continuum, the Cambridge accreditation confirms Enko La Gaieté’s commitment to offer a high-quality international education to learners in Cameroon”, says Mrs. Mireille Nkontchou, Country Manager for Enko Education Cameroon.
