The Liberian Ambassador to Cameroon, His Excellency Daniel S.Toby, honored our invitation to deliver a career talk on 9th October 2015. On ground to welcome the amabssador were the staff and students of Enko Education and the management of La Gaiete.

In his brief welcome message, the Head of School focused on two essential issues; the IB practice of utilising the resources of the host community in the implementation of the IB diploma programme and the optimism with respect to encouraging full attention of the students.

The ambssador’s speech, “Knowing Thyself”, focused on identifying one’s calling, being an inquirer and developing creative imagination. He expounded on these themes through his personal history, career and his eventual emergence within a very difficult context of the Liberian Civil War.

The session came to an end with the question and answer section. The thought-provoking questions asked by the students attested to the realization of the need for self-reflection and change of perspective on their studies and life beyond Enko Education. It was no doubt an enriching experience for all.

In her closing remarks, the founder of La Gaiete, Madam Justine Nkonchou stated that “this is one initiaive that I hope is repeated as often as possible. I believe our students have a lot to learn from the real life stories of public figures.”
